Questionhi, I got my plant yesterday and i found out that my sundew capensis dont have
dew on it and just incase the dew comes back how do i feed my sundew?
AnswerHi Aaron,
This is very common after shipping. The plant has been in the dark for several days from shipping. They manufacture the mucilage from photosynthesis. Once you have your plant in a sunny window it should make more. Just keep it wet and give it time.
Consider feeding something you do just because you want to see how your plant catches insects. It will catch small insects on it's own, even in the house. It isn't something you really do as part of the plant's care. Insects are fertilizer, not energy. Sunlight is far more vital.
Once it has produced sticky leaves again just put a small insect such as a fly or mosquito on the larger outer tentacles. They will begin to wrap around the insect in a few minutes.
Good Growing!
