Question
fly trap
I've been on forums a lot recently, and peeps have been
saying my plant doesn't look healthy and i need to give it
more sun...its outside in full sun all day..so i cant
really give it more...does it look unhealthy to you?
(these growths are the first since i took it out of those
stupid death cubes)
AnswerHi Matt,
The flytrap definitely looks like it was grown in very low light conditions. The long lanky leaves are probably older ones that were present when you purchased the plant. If you prefer, you can cut them off. I usually have no qualms about cutting off leaves that look unsightly.
You didn't state how you're growing your plant, so I can't comment about your lighting. The only thing I can do is judge the new growth, and that's how you determine if your lighting is appropriate. You can't judge it on leaves prior to your purchase, only on leaves after your purchase. The new growth seems appropriate and numerous, so at least the lighting is adequate. Eventually when they open up, they should have some redness inside the trap. If not, you may need to provide more direct sunlight.
