QuestionHi,
I just wanted to ask you guys a quick question regarding flytraps and sundews. I will very shortly be constructing my bog and should have it built only within a matter of days. I would very much soon after like to purchase a few sundews and flytraps to have a home in it. I need to know what steps I should take to make transplanting them easy. Are they a little more finicky that sarracenia? I should tell you that I will eventually get a few flytraps bareroot. What measures will make it easiest on these few flytraps I get? Thanks for your time. By the way, I have 3 flowers on my flava I ordered. They are slowly getting ready for petal drop and I also self pollinated them (I hope). They are developing steady growing pitchers which I eagerly await to see open. Judith Hindle is awesome with pretty red veins and white areas developing. I know this is a lot of stuff but I had to give an update. The plants so far are excellent and I love them!

AnswerHi Daniel,
The process of replanting flytraps and sundews is the same as for Sarracenia. Keep in mind that we work with thousands of these plants each year. If you saw how we handle the plants during our marathon repotting sessions, you'd be convinced that these plants are much durable than a lot of people give them credit.
We also cover the repotting process in our DVD. You can also watch how we repot a tropical sundew in one of our video podcast. Look for episode 2 of Ask the Carnivorous Plant Guys.
Good growing!
