Question
How long (under optimal conditions and health) would it
take for a leaf, from then the leaf first emerges from the
soil, to become fully grown and functional? I have a
dionaea muscipula, serracenia purperea (of some
variation..it isnt fully purple..its purple and green) and
a drosera capensis

Answer
Hello Mike,

Since each plant species will have its own growth rate and each plant will be placed in different conditions with each grower it is difficult to predict how fast a particular plant might grow for you specifically. A growth rate guideline is about 4-7 days for the Drosera, 10-14 days for the Dionaea, and about a month for the Sarracenia.

You might need more light for the Sarracenia if it is not displaying the coloration you expect. If it is being grown in full sun outdoors in a place where it gets sun all day it is getting optimal light. If it is partially shaded, getting partial light under a tree, or being grown indoors, it will not be coloring up as well as one that gets optimal light and might display deformed leaves eventually.
