QuestionHi,I just bought a cape sundew and when it came was is dewless.I heard when a sundew is dewless you give it lots of sunlight.I did that through a southwest window but sill no dew?I live in zone 9 and it is growing in 1/1 peat moss and pearlite and is watered with R.O. water.can you help me?
AnswerHi Hughes,
If you just got the sundew through the mail, you may need to give your plant up to two weeks to recover from the shipping process. If you picked it up from your local hardware store, then you may need to wait until you see new growth. While sunlight is the most critical factor, leaf age and trauma will affect dew production as well. Continue growing the plant in very bright sunlight and in time you'll see dew. Again, give your plant up to two weeks or until you see new growth, depending on how you acquired the plant.
Good growing!
