QuestionI bought a venusflytrap and a butterwort this afternoon. Both the vtf and the butterwort were flowering. I know their both supposed to be in winter dormancy. So I cut the vft flower stalk off. I know it was to late to put them out side so I put them on a sunny window that recieve 5-7 hours of direct sun. They are growing in peat moss and perlite. The vft is sitting in a water tray of pure distiled water. Im doing the same thing for my butterwort except I did not cut the flower stalk. will both of them live or will they die?
AnswerHi Jesus,
They both should be fine. It sounds like they were in pretty good condition. Once the weather warms up some you could put them outside. It would also be a good idea to transplant them to larger pots since this is a good time of year for it. When you put them outside, try to give the butterwort (it's probably Pinguicula primulifora) a little shade from some other plants.
Good Growing!
