QuestionWould clay pots sealed with a water sealer or masonry sealer be suitable for carnivorous plants? I am a bit worried about the chemicals.
Also - I was planning on placing a potted Venus fly trap into a larger pot containing pitcher plants. Would that work out?
Thank you,
John
AnswerHi John,
I'm not sure what they use in that sealer. You have to check what the ingredients are, and if they can leach into the water. It would be safer to actually glaze the pots and have them fired. That way you have a truly sealed pot.
You can easily plant flytraps, Sarracenia, hardy sundews, and hardy butterworts together. They make great little savage gardens.
Good Growing!
