QuestionI have two pots of Sarracenia on my windowsill. Both plants are in plastic 4-inch pots, and have numerous pitchers, but the tops/tips of each is brown and crusty. What is happening with these plants ?
Thanks.
AnswerHelo Patrick,
At this time of the year Sarracenias should be coming out of dormancy if they are in North America. First off, send me a followup so i can determine where you live, how much light the plants recieve, and what season the plants should be in based on the time of year you are in in your part of the world. Sarracenias really do best outside in full sunlight. They weaken and die off if not provided very high amounts of supplemental light indoors. During the winter season, Saracenias tend to look ragged and brown on the pitcher tops.
