blackening sundew tips

Question
Hi, I have a cape sundew in my window sill and I'm trying to slowly lower the humidity since that's healthier.Yesterday I cut 3 1/4 in. holes in the dome. This morning I noticed the tips were turning black. Will it recover? I was planning on cutting 3 holes in the dome every 3 days for two weeks until I can take it off. Is it o.k. to lift the dome for a few seconds to easily check on it every now and then?I was also planning to move it outside on Valentine's Day. Is that too soon?

Answer
Hi Dakota,

Slowly increasing air flow like you're doing is great.  You are going to see a little leaf burn, and that's fine.  Just cut off any leaves that start to deteriorate.  Also make sure the soil is wet at all times.  Cape sundews grow fairly fast.  I'm not sure about moving it outside since you didn't tell me where you live.

Good Growing!
