Couple questions

Question
1.  My Nepenthes came and its pitcher is dry inside.  I've already put it in a windowsill.  Will it produce more fluid later?

2.  My temperate plants outside are browning and going dormant.  HOw can I tell the difference between when a plant is going dormant or if it is dying so I won't be confused?

Answer
Hi Taylor,

1.  It probably will.  All the fluid gets dumped out during shipping.  You can put just a little water back in the pitcher to help it during the transition.

2.  Plants going dormant will gradually have older leaves browning, but you'll see still see green crowns on Sarracenia.  Flytraps loose all their long traps and usually have a few small green leaves that remain.  Hardy sundews loose all their leaves and have a small reddish resting bud in the center of the plant.

Good Growing!
