QuestionI have just two questions:
1: Does the Nepenthes soil sold on your site (coconut husk and peat moss) work with this species because I know that some Nepenthes dislike the presence of coconut husk?
2: I ordered a Heat pack to be put with my plant as my area can have temperatures as low as 35 degrees, do you think this was a good idea?
AnswerHi Taylor,
Thank you for your recent purchase! We've experimented with many soil mixes, and we've found our current mix of coconut husk and dried sphagnum moss (not peat moss) to be most effective for our current growing conditions and watering schedule. Some plants prefer a different soil mix, such as ultra highland Nepenthes and ultra lowland Nepenthes, but N. eymae isn't one of them.
Ordering a heat pack is always a good idea during the winter months. We also monitor the weather throughout the country before we ship any plants and hold back shipments if the weather is too cold, either at the nursery or at the point of destination.
Good growing!
