QuestionI'm growing my plant in perlite/sand/peat mix in an African Violet Pot. It is growing on a south facing window that has some layers to keep out UV rays. The plants is still green after one and a half month after transplanting. One pitcher that was close before transplant finally open, but the plant seems to stop growing now. Is this plants going dormant for winter or what?
AnswerHi Taylor,
Since your plant is just receiving just natural light, it probably is going dormant. Southwest Australia where it comes from does experience distinct seasons. What will sometimes happen is pitcher production will cease in the winter, but you'll still see leaves being produced.
Good Growing!
