QuestionHello,
Since dormancy is coming fast and i am about to divide many of my sarracenia and dionaea, i was wondering if soaking the unrooted plants in a concentrate of superthrive after dividing them would supplement growth for spring and help overcome shock or would it cause them to come out of dormancy prematurity.
Thanks
AnswerHi Adam,
Hold off on dividing your plants. This is the wrong time of the year to do so. You should do your divisions in early spring, about the time when your plants emerge from dormancy. If you divide them now, your plants won't have time to recover before they go dormant. This sets them up for disease and frost damage. For this reason, you should divide your plants in early spring. This gives your plants optimum time to recover from the rhizome damage before the onset of winter.
When you divide your rhizomes in spring, you can soak them in SuperThrive?to aid in their recovery. Use 1 teaspoon per gallon and allow the rhizomes to soak for about 15 minutes.
