Answer
Hi Tracy,

Yes, you can certainly keep any of the North American carnivorous plants outdoors in Texas.  Of course, the type of winter protection you'll need to provide depends on where in Texas you reside.  For instance, if you live near Oklahoma, then you'll need to protect your plants from the dry freezing winds that are common to that area.  If you live along the Gulf Coast, then you won't need to provide any winter protection.  We have customers in Houston, Corpus Christi, San Antonio and other cities in southern Texas who have kept their North American carnivorous plants outdoors throughout the year.

For more information about winter care, read our care sheets online:

After reading the care sheets, if you need further assistance, I invite you to submit a follow-up question.  Please include your location in Texas so that I may provide more specific recommendations.

Good growing!
