QuestionHi, im going to get some D. filliformus ssp filliformus seeds and from what the person said there temparates and i have to stratify the seed. I was wondering i think ive seen D. filliformus under both your temperates and tropicals, just the tropical one is red form. Can they be grown as tropicals as long as you stratify the seed? and if this can be accomplished in future generations of the plant could it produce seed that wouldn't need to be stratified?. thanks
AnswerHi Dustin,
These seeds require stratification. Once the plants are fully grown, you should also grow them like temperate plants. Even if you try to grow them as tropical plants, they will attempt to go dormant at the slightest change in temperature and lighting. Of all the dewthreads, only the red form is capable of being grown like a tropical plant.
Good growing!
