Starting up

Question
I learned of you guys through a friend of mine. He says you are always very nice and I should contact you. I was trying to start a carnivorous plant area in my house. Can certain plants not go together or "don't get along?" Is it easy to start up? tips? thanks

Answer
Hi Jen,

If you want to be successful in growing carnivorous plants, the trick is to select those plants that would grow best in your home or in your garden.  There are many that are easy to grow for first-time growers as long as you can provide the correct lighting and water.  In many instances, you'll be very surprised at how easy it is to grow them.  If you can grow roses or tomato plants, you can easily grow Venus flytraps.  If you can grow a Christmas cactus, you can grow many varieties of Asian pitcher plants.

Go to our main website and click on the link "Best Plants For You."  Just answer a few short questions about your growing conditions, and you'll get a list of plants suitable for your home or garden.  I also recommend to click on the care sheet link to read more on how to grow various types of carnivorous plants.
