newspaper

Question
I would like to put my pitcher plants and venus flytraps in a container for the winter.last year I put them on a shelf and covered them up and half of the plants died. This year I would like to put them in a storage containter and was wondering if I could use newspaper instead of mulch to insulate them.Sommeone said that newspaper is a very good insulator.I live in New York(which I think is zone 6) and it gets cold in the winter. The plants will be outside as I have no other place to put them.my Parrot Pitcher and my Purple Pitcher are to big to cut down and put in the refrigator. Also should I wait untill the weather gets above 70 degrees before I put my tropical plants outside?

Answer
well i don't know about the news paper but if you wont you can go on with
it but i wouldn't recommend it i will look in to it.as for the container
it could work if it can hold in the humidity but in dormancy the plants are so pose to die a little but you should clip  the dead ones a little if you have anymore questions you can contact me at [email protected].
