east

Question
DEAR, SNW in your caresheets it says that a west or south window is better but i noticed that east windows get more light(sun rises in east sets in the west) why do you suggest west or south the sun rises first in east. so can I keep a cape sundew and pygmy in a east window from morning to night.

Answer
Hi Nelson,

We recommend south and west windows because sometimes the light intensity in an east window isn't as strong.  This is particularly true where fog develops in the morning and during the winter months.  We've found that growers had better results throughout the year when they grew plants in south and west windows.

You can certainly keep your plant in an east window.  Just make sure it gets the minimum hours of direct sunlight. If you find that your plants are losing their dew, try a different window that gets more sun.

Good growing!
