Questionhi, i just had a few questions reguarding temperature. IN the next few days the temperature is supposed to get down to the mid to upper 30s(F) and i was wondering if this is going to affect my plants. My plants right now are coming out of dormancy and one of my sarracenias has 2 flower buds about 2-4 inches high. Will i have to provide protection for these plants? If so how? the temp. has been from 50-75F for about the past week or 2 maybe more not sure. THanks.
AnswerHi Dustin,
I've generally hadn't seen any problems when the temperatures would drop down to 30癋 after new growth occurs. As long as the nighttime temperature remains above 25癋, the new growth will be fine. The cooler nighttime temperature just means that the plants will take a bit longer to emerge fully from dormancy.
Good growing!
