QuestionI have several flytraps on my outside patio..they seem to be emerging from dormancy fine ..however I've noticed a green film on the top of the soil..please tell me if any action should be taken...ty

That would be slime mold. It's a common growth on plants kept in very moist soil. It won't harm the plant, but it can be unsightly. To remove it, simply scrape off the upper soil, and then replace it with fresh soil.
To reduce the occurrence of the slime mold, move your plants to an area where there is full sun and where it could get rained on. Both sunlight and rain seems to reduce the occurrence of slime mold.
