QuestionWhen leaf cutting sundews (lance leaf, cape, and pygmy) should I put the leaves in water or soil (1 part peat moss 1 part perlite)?
Thanks,
Sammy
AnswerHi Sammy,
The easiest method is to place the leaves on moist soil of 1 part peat moss and 1 part perlite. Firmly press the leaves onto the soil to ensure that all parts of the leaf is in contact with the soil.
The water method also works, but requires the extra step of having to pot up the plantlets and acclimating them to lower humidity. For this reason, we use only the soil method at our nursery.
Good growing!
