AnswerHi El Toad,
I'm glad that you've found a method that works for you. But it still seems the method isn't quite as effective as it could be. You could set the pot in a tray of standing water. We have many large pots in our display garden that sit in several inches of water, and this method works well.
The other option is setting up an automatic drip watering system. You can purchase timers for your garden hose that will turn on the water at specific time intervals. You can have it turn on for an hour or two each day. We use this type of drip watering system with some of our plants, and it too works well.
I'm also not clear about which portion of the care sheets you found difficult to implement. I'm also not sure if you're referring to an in-ground bog garden, or a potted above-ground bog garden. If you could provide more information about what you were doing, I might be able to better assist you.
Good growing!
