QuestionHi guys
I just got my shipment and I was reminded why you are my 'go to guys' for carnivorous plants. The plants were as always beautiful and well packed.
As you know, I bought a P. macroceras from you. I got this with the intention of putting it in my bog garden outdoors. The question is, should I wait until the weather is a little more consistently warm (it is supposed to drop down to 30 degrees tonight) or can I just go ahead on plant it.
Thanks
Nicole (90 miles from NYC)
AnswerHi Nicole,
Since we've had many warm days at our nursery, wait until your nighttime temperatures are consistently above 35癋. This will help preserve the new growth.
This plant isn't terribly fond of very warm weather, so make sure to plant it amongst other pitcher plants that can shield it from the hot afternoon sun. I'm still revising the growing instructions for the temperate Pinguicula, and hopefully I'll have the care sheet available later this month.
Good growing!
