QuestionWe have a boat in New England, in the summer we have no see ums (tiny agravating bugs) is there a plant that will live on my boat and eat the bugs? I already have a collection of sundews and fly traps. Thank you for your answer.
AnswerHi Lynda,
The question would be more properly addressed with the new feature on our website. Just answer a few short questions, and you will get a list of plants best suited for your conditions.

Otherwise, you could give the Mexican butterworts, such as Pinguicula moranensis, a try. Just be aware that in order to be caught, the insect must be attracted to the nectar produced by the plant. Not all insects are attracted to nectar, such as mosquitoes, which is why carnivorous plants are not very good in controlling insect populations.
Good growing!
