Questionis it unusual for venus fly traps to have survived the winter in a covered outdoors container here in Massachusetts? I was surprised to find 3 of them still green and looking healthy after this past winter

Actually growing flytraps outdoors is the secret to keeping them going year after year. Flytraps are native to North Carolina, which is why we grow our flytraps exclusively outdoors at our nursery in Oregon. As with any temperate plant, they go dormant in the winter and come back in spring.
