QuestionHello, and good day!
I was wondering about how sensitive Nepenthes are, and mainly N.Truncatas to being moved around? We well be having some nice weather for the next few days, and thought that my N.Truncata would like a bit of fresh air, and sun shine. But wasn't sure if it would do more harm then good if my plant would go into shock by being moved in, and out of the house. My night time temps drop to 30F so I would have to bring it back in at night fall. It is doing very well by the way! It is just about to open a new pitcher, and overall it's color is a deeper green then when I received it.
Thank you, and have a nice day.

AnswerHi Brent,
Nepenthes truncata is a very tolerant plant, but your first assumption is correct. If it's doing well in the indoor location you have it in, leave it. Going in and out will do more harm than good since it will always be trying to adapt the changing conditions. Incidentally, this is true for all houseplants. I've checked with some houseplant experts, and most say not to be moving your plants outside for the summer for the same reasons. It's one of those urban legends that gets spread around even in books.
Good Growing!
