QuestionI received two Nepenthes hybrids a few months ago and they're doing great. Recently they have both started developing small droplets of clear, sticky, fluid on the petioles and pitchers. I'm worried that I may be watering too much, or not enough. Should I be worried? There are no other signs of trouble.

AnswerHi Ron,
I've always been surprised that more books don't talk about this. These are nectar secretions. If you taste one of the drops you'll notice it's just like corn syrup. This is how many Nepenthes lure ants and other insects to the pitchers. Sounds like your plants are doing great.
Good Growing!
