Questionfor Christmas break I'm taking home our class plant (a vft) this is the first one I've taken care of and i was wondering what happens if i feed one trap too much or if a feed a different trap every time the last on re-opens.
AnswerHi Justine,
Don't feed the plant at all. Venus flytraps should be dormant in December. Carnivorous plants use their insects for fertilizer, not energy the way animals do. They don't need fertilizer when not in active growth.
To take care of it this time of year, just keep it in a bright window, and keep the soil damp, but not waterlogged. For more information on Venus flytrap care visit: http://cobraplant.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=8&chapter=1&zenid=48905fbde5b4...
Good Growing!
