QuestionMy Drosera spatulata started sending up flower stalks well back in October. They've stopped growing but the buds still haven't bloomed. Is this a normal?
I actually recieved this plant from your store about a year ago and this is the first time the plant has flowered. I was growing it under a compact flourecent light in my office but took it home and placed it in a sunny window back in September. I've started misting it with 1/4 dilluted orchid fertilizer every other week or so to try to help it along. I'm thinking about adding a compact flouresent back into the mix - but that would mean it can't stay in the window. My pings, cephalatus, and cape sundew are all in the same window and doing just fine.
AnswerHi Tara,
Yes, this is quite normal. I often see lots of buds on ours this time of year that don't open. Supplementing the light is great. If you can find a way to do the fluorescent light, and the window, even better.
Good Growing!
