Mold? on my Cephalotus

Question
I have a ceph that is in 100% spaghum moss.  It looks like there is mold growing on it.  Is that possible and if so, how do I get rid of it?

Thanks you for your help.

Answer
Hi Kelly,

A very simple solution is a sulfur-based fungicide.  This will often take care of gray mold quickly.  Of course, you sometimes end up with sulfur residue on your plant.  But this residue will help prevent future outbreaks.  If it looks unsightly, just wash it off a few days later after spraying.

Another option is Neem oil.  This product will also take care of mold and won't leave a residue, but it won't prevent future mold from occurring like the sulfur.  So you'll just need to make sure to spray again in another week if the problem is fairly serious.

As always, follow the directions provided by the manufacturer.

Good growing!
