Questionplanted 10 6ft trees about 2 months ago . they are now turning brown from base outward. I'am now in 100+ heat . need to water more?
AnswerSince I do not know how much watering you are doing now I can not say if you need to water more. The best watering method is place a pan under the trees and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop. Do this every third day unless it rains. If you have not done so mulch around the trees
with not more than 3 inches deep of organic mulch, pine straw is good. Do not pile the mulch up on the trunk. This will help hold moisture around the roots. Do not over water, Leland cypress cannot take a lot of water.
