QuestionWe want to cut branches off for use in center pieces for our wedding reception in January, if we cut them now will the needles
turn brown, or should we wait until closer to January, but they will most likely be quite snow covered?!
Thanks,
Tony
AnswerI would wait closer to the time. Pine boughs displayed out of water will generally last a week or two (depending on their original freshness and how dry your home is). Not only will they turn brown but the needles will drop off. Cut them a few days before the wedding and shake the snow off. Keep them in an area that is not heated until you are ready to use them.
