QuestionWe have a small blue cedar in our front yard that has suddenly started getting brown needles on it. It also has new growth coming at the ends of the branches. We had a very wet spring, 23 straight days of rain, and now it's rather dry. The brown needles seem to be spread randomly all over the tree, a spot here and a spot there. When I run my hand over the brown ones they pop right off. I see no sign of pests on the tree but who am I to say!! lol
Thanks for any information and recommendation you can give us to help the tree.
AnswerSounds like just a reaction to the wet weather followed by dry weather. I would water the tree with 1 inch of water per week-place a pan under the tree and turn the sprinkler on and when the pan has 1 inch of water in it stop. Do this once a week if it does not rain.
