QuestionI have a pine (an east Texas variety) in my from yard that had been dropping needles for months. It is to the point of covering the yard and driveway completely every two days or so. The tips seem to have green small needles, but the rest of the tree is becoming bare. We live in a Houston suburb. Help please
AnswerPines do have the habit of dropping needles over time. They have two sets of needles and as the new needles in the spring start to leaf out the older needles will be dropped. As long as there is green on the ends on the branches the tree is ok. It may look like there a re tuffs of needles early in the spring but this normal. Sounds like the tree is ok to me.
