QuestionWe have several leyland cypress. Four of them, next to each other, are getting brown branches. We had bag worms but sprayed and they haven't come back. These branches are not in one place on the trees but several places all over the trees and they look like they are turning from the outside in. I don't see any mites, webs or anything strange. It has been very hot and dry here in TN but we have been trying to water them well. Could this just be them drying from the weather and they need more water? Thanks for your help.
Answernature doesn't water once a day or once a week. watering is uusually the #1 reason for killing plants in pots and in the ground.
plants in the ground(especially established ones) need watering only during prolonged dry spells. once a week may be too often during cloudy or cooler weather. may be too little during hot sunny weather. you don't kill plants by giving them too much water per watering. they die from being watered too frequently or not enough.
good luck.
