QuestionI live in a community that has planting restrictions with regard to tree, plant or shrub height.
I have 6 Italian Cypress trees planted that demarcate the edge of my steep driveway.
Are these trees amenable to pruning to an 8 foot height?
Thanks
Answerdepends on how big they are now. if they are less than 8'now then "yes" they can be kept that size by pruning(maybe 2-3 x's per year). if they are 20-30+' now then "no" you can't cut them back to 8' and expect them to look nice. also fertilizing on a regular basis is important to keep them healthy.
we don't grow many(not at all outside) italian cypress in southern NJ. our winters are a little toooo cold. check w/a local garden center/nursery to be sure before you start your project.
