Question
Can you tell me what these little pepper like things on my basil?  I have never grown basil before, but wanted to make my own pesto this year.  I tasted one, and it was really hot.  Do you use them for anything or just toss?  Thanks for any info you can give me.

It sounds like it is a small pepper plant. The basil will not produce any type of peppers. Basil is hard to grow indoors in fall or winter. Pepper plants will produce indoors better than basil. You can harvest peppers peppers and dry for seasoning. Check web for drying peppers. Good luck next spring.
