moisture inside container of peeled garlic, does the moisture effect the garlic cloves?

I really do not know the answer but would guess that you should watch them for discoloration (caused by mold) and use them within a few days.  If you are not able to use them soon I would freeze them.  
Are the cloves in oil?  If so, make sure you keep them refrigerated.
