QuestionHi Elyse.
I live in Louisville Kentucky and had been doing some research on growing Corsican Mint or The Blue Star Creeper in a total shaded area. I had planted shade grass before but failed, as I do believe the specific area might be to moist. The soil is very tuff to plant as the soil composition has a high percentage of clay, which is typical to Kentucky.
I have gone to various herb-growing-Internet-sights to purchase Corsican Mint seeds, but either it is sold out, or only plants are available. Could you tell me if it is a good idea to plant the mint or the blue star creeper, and where I would be able to purchase the seeds.
Thank you so much.
Kind Regards
Susanna
AnswerSusanna:
I think both will do fine in a shaded area, I have planted them in both shade and part-shade; my soil is also heavy clay. I've never seen seeds, they may be hard to propigate that way. I'd go to a local nursery and buy plants. Both spread prolifically if they are happy, so you could start with one of each to make sure they will do well, and you can easily divide them in the fall or next spring.
