QuestionI have heard that Calendula is a good herb to help fight various skin yeast infections, used both topically and internally. I'm wondering if there are other herbs that could help with yeast overgrowth? For what it's worth, this is not a Candida issue - the yeast involved is Malassezia - but it's still yeast, and I'd love some more natural ways to keep it at bay.
(yes, I know you can't offer medical advice or anything, no worries)
AnswerPippa:
I wouldn't choose Calendula for the yeast. It is a good herb for healing, but really isn't an antifungal. Other herbs to choose would be: Oregon Grape, Pau d'arco or Usnea (Old Man's Beard). All three can be used topically or internally.
