Question
I have recently potted a bay tree about 2 ft height in new compost, using organic slug pellets on the surface.  Recently I have noticed that the new shoots are going black, do you have any advice on prevention/cure please?

I can't say for sure,it may be in the new soil mix,too much water or other.Bay loves to be  root bound before going to another size pot. It could take some bone meal & lime too. Check with your state cooperative extension service. Also go to web site "gardens alive.com. They have organic products and may be able to give you more specifics. The fertilizer should be organic, liquid fish or fish/seaweed. Home depot/lowe's now carry the liquid fish.
