QuestionMy wife and I planted cilantro; Margam; Dill; Rosemary; Thyme; sage; basil & jalopenos and tomatoes in an herb garden. The spices are keeping the rabbits; bugs and everything off of the produce - wonderful. My question is are cilantro died - we harvested once but maybe took the crown; the dill probably wasn't cut back soon enough and continues to have the yellow flowers for we like the dill weed vs dill seed. We took your suggestion and cut it back down 1/3 so we will see for it is July. The basil I was already pinching off the flower heads as has done wonderful as well as they rest of the garden (minus) the cilantro. I would like to know when we can plant. We planted in May but I see you recommend Oct-Dec we live in New Jersey and have cold winters - still OK to plant then?? Please advise . thanks so much!

You planted at a good time, but mother nature was not in agreement with the weather. I would try the cilantro seeds in mid to late august, depending again on the temps. You may also try the dill too! Nothing to lose, but a testimony on how they behaved.
