my son has eczema

Question
my son is 13yrs.he has chronic eczema, and has been having herpetic outbreaks his whole life.what can i give to boost his immunity.

Answer
Hi Joanna, I understand your concern.  For strengthening of the immune system essential fatty acids (EFA's) are an important element.  A vitamin B complex like B50 used in conjunciton with vitamin A is an immune system booster and  promotes healthy skin.  Vitamin E is excellent for healthy skin.  Use the d-alpha tocopherol form.  You may want to try using the vitamin E oil directly on the outbreaks.  It is a healing agent and its good to take the softgels internally as well.  YOu can try the external application by puncturing one of the softgels and using the oil ocntained in it.

There are also herbs that boost the immune system.  Astragalus and red clover are two.  Licorice root capsules enhance immune response.  Licorice root can elevate blood pressure.  Do not take it more than 7 consecutive days.  AFter resting a week or 2 it may be taken for 7 days again.

I encourage you to do some research on herbs for health.  Consider doing a cleanse.  There is much information available today and many preparations for cleansing the body are available.

I have given you alot to think about.  If he is not taking a multiple vitamin/mineral then it may be needed.

If you have more questions please ask.
