Question
I have what i think to be Basil growing in my garden, I planted it last year, but this year it has gone crazy. we have pulled it iut at least three times this year and it is back again, spreading faster then ever. I want to get rid of it but i don't know how it is very close, even mixed in with some of my plant I do not wish to lose including my Japanese Maple, some Iris,a Peony and a rose of shoran. could you please help me get rid of just the unwanted basil.

The basil you have sounds like green or red perilla(shiso). It returns each year and looks like basil, but it is not. Regular basil will not return each year unless you are in a hot climate all year. Beside pulling it up by the roots, you could go to web site "Gardens Alive.com" and ask for natural weed killer. You can also try home depot/Lowe's for something too! To really be sure take a piece to a reputable garden center for I D.
