QuestionCan you tell me why my basil is turning yellow and not thriving?
I live in a cold climate- coastal Alaska- but have always had
good luck with basil with my cold frame. Not this year. Any
ideas? Thanks!
AnswerLali:
I think you have to go back to the cold frame. Basil is a light and heat lover and will not accept anything less. The yellowing of the leaves could be not enough heat & fertilizer. It loves liquid fish & kelp or the fish alone is ok to keep it producing. Prune all new growth back 1/3 on each branch and do this every 3 weeks.
