Herbs as groundcover

Question
I have a very small, full sun front yard with landscaping around the edges.  I am wanting to remove the remaining grass and plant a perennial herb in its place.  Is there a low growing/spreading herb that you could recommend for this situation?  I was hoping to get something fragrant also.  Thanks!  Tammy

Answer
Tammy:
There are perennial thymes and mints that are good ground covers. The mints are the most fragrant. Roman camomille can also be used if soil allows it. Morning sun, well drain soil is a must. Same for thyme. Mint needs well composted soil and keep it pruned to keep it growing until winter comes in.
