QuestionHi, I grew some catnip this year and was wondering if I can dry it for the cat. Also do you have any idea if all the plant is edible for the cat? Thanks Margaret
AnswerMargaret:
Mice and rats hate catnip and will not get near it. The cats will chew it;roll in it; and eat it. You can dry it by placing in a paper bag and place in a cool dry area. Then you can put into kitty socks for them. The catnip tea is also excellent for women monthly cramps. Start before it starts; make it strong. Steep fresh or dry leaves for 15 minutes or more. It is a calming tea for children and adults. Keep the flowers cut off. It will return every year. Feed a liquid fish fertilizer.
