How to increase Humidity for container grown datepalm

Question
Hi,
I would like to know which method is most efficient to increase the humidity of container grown datepalm, whether its placing pebbles in the tray and filling water then placing pot on it, or spray misting of leaves, or placing many cup filled with water around the pots? Can you please explain me the benefit of humidity for these plants and what happens if over humidity occurs? What about covering the pot with plastic bag method to increase humidity?
Thankyou

I am assuming you mean miniature date palm...Certain varieties like higher humidity...
I think the placing of stones in a tray and then putting the potted plant on top of the wet stone is the best way to increase humidity. This will keep a continuos supply of moisture near the foliage of the plants...Spray misting of the foliage 2-3 times per week will also help in addition to the stone saucer...
Covering the pot and plant with a plastic bag can be tricky if you are not sure what you are doing...It could cause more problems than it is worth...In your case I would avoid this method...
Too much humidity and constant wetness of the foliage can cause rotting and fungal problems...Putting the plant in a plastic bag can also cause these problems...
Let me know if this answers your questions...
