QuestionWill,
My name is Chris, and I have very recently started to get some house plants. I have a burgundy ficus that has started to get this moldy looking spot on a couple of leaves. I keep it on my back porch, and don't over water it, but I have NO experience with this and would love an opinion.
Thank you so much for you time.
Chris
AnswerHi Chris,
"Moldy looking spot" is not specific enough for me to identify the cause. It might be powdery mildew or pesticidal residue or sunburn or bird dropping. It would best if you posted a photo here or emailed one to me at

In any case, it is best of you move your Rubber Tree back inside because the outdoor sun is too intense for it.
