DAMAGED MONEY TREE

Question
I JUST MOVED AND I HAD MY MONEY TREE IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK AND WHEN I GOT TO MY NEW PLACE IT LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE TOOK A WEED WACKER TO MY TREE, AND NOW ALL THE LEAVES ARE DAMAGED. WHAT DO I DO? DO I CUT ALL THE LEAVES OFF?

Answer
Hi Rob,

The damage was done by the wind and has affected only the foliage, not the roots, which are critical to the plant's future.

Trimming off damaged leaves will make it look better, but will not affect the plant's health one way or the other. So just trim it up to make it look better without concern about doing further damage. If all the leaves on a stem are damaged, then cut that stem back by about one-third.

Keep your Money Tree close to a bright window. Don't repot it or fertilize it. Water it only when the top half-inch of soil is dry to the touch. Be patient as it will take a while for healthy new growth to come in.

I have written an article on Money tree care that I will email for free to you (or anyone else) who emails a request to me at [email protected].

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
